Sr. Executive / Asst. Manager – Mechanical procurement – Puducherry

Experience: Should have minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in procurement of mechanical parts, sub-contracting process, Fabrication & machining.

Qualification – Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engginering

Job Description:

Vendor Evaluation: Conduct yearly assessments to identify and qualify vendors based on quality, cost, and reliability.

Quality Assurance:

  • Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure the purchased materials meet all necessary quality metrics.
  • Ensure that supplier having latest updated drawing and control plan to meet the quality requirement.

Cost Analysis:

  • Perform detailed cost analyses to identify optimal procurement options aligned with budget constraints and quality standards.
  • Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure helpful with existing contract terms and conditions.
  • solutions for existing processes to reduce waste and increase productivity.

Order Management:

  • Oversee the entire ordering process, from initial requisition to final delivery, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
  • Ensure that materials are planned as per quarterly forecast through ERP system and release the order with delivery schedule and timely delivery.

Technical Relationship:

  •  Serve as the point of contact between R&D department and suppliers to clarify technical specifications or resolve issues.
  • Updating revision / ECN changes to supplier against the technical note issuance from R&D to supplier and ensure the effective implementation.
  • Maintain the drawings, ECN, compliance documents properly.
  • Should have knowledge of Machining, Fabrication, plating, power coating and welding and so on.

Agreement: Administer supplier contracts and agreements, ensuring they meet both short-term needs and long-term strategic goals.

Compliance Monitoring: Keep procurement activities compliant with internal policies and external regulations.

Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Maintain and nurture relationships with suppliers for long-term partnership and potential cost savings.
  • Requirement/ changes are timely updated to supplier for their immediate reaction against our requirement.
